I want to combine school with a vocational qualification
We work with a number of local schools to provide vocational curriculum breadth and more choice for young people at the age of 14 / Key Stage 4 work-related learning.
Speak to your school about the options available
or call us on 0115 849 2020.
1. Courses available
We offer a range of courses for 14-16 year olds
2. Where will it lead?
A vocational qualification whilst at school can lead to a range of opportunities:
- Apprenticeship (part-time study, full-time work)
- Employment with training (part-time study, full-time work)
- Full-time at college (full-time study)
- Sixth Form (full-time study)

3. How does it work?
It's simple - your school and SEDC will arrange everything for you
In Year 9, we offer a series of Taster Days organised with your school to enable you to explore different vocational subject areas.
You will then have the opportunity to come to College in Years 10 and 11 to study your chosen subject for two half days per week as part of your normal school curriculum.
Transport will be arranged by your school.
